Today was a great day for my art

The WIP featured here was done in GIMP, I figured I try it for a change, after all, it has a good rep with artists, as far as I know.

This also is from the perspective of 3 days ago, since I didn’t finish this post in time.

Today was unexpected for me in a way, I’m gonna recap this as best as I can, soooooo here goes!

My Mami was asleep for the most of the day, I played a slot machine like game on the stereo system, and spent most of the day on art!

Although I didn’t necessarily plan out the day, my art became the main focus on it’s own. It started off with this painting in Krita I did, which I’m keeping a surprise hehe, intended as an entry for a calendar feature photo. It’s been in the works for mostly this week and last, with it being on the back burner for about a month, with the near end result looking incredibly pretty.

But as for that piece, I will reveal that as a surprise if it makes it, if not, then you’ll see it here most definitely. However, I do present to you a WIP of Furdy’s Maya the Mako Shark, as seen above. In this, you can see Maya rocking a pair of boxing gloves, a sports bra, and sports shorts.

So all in all, it’s very cool how today led me to my art, hope you enjoy! 😉

Man of the house

My grandpa went to the airport a couple weeks ago, with his goal set on visiting some family members back in Mexico, thus I am the title as of now for approximately two weeks. My main responsibility is to take care of the animals (including the cats, dogs, horse, and chickens), there’s probably lots more to list, but that’s the major one.

I feel that I got this down, that I can do everything with comfort, without anxiety of getting it wrong. To help myself out, I took a video recording of my grandpa demonstrating how to feed the animals, serving as a reference.

For the most part, I’ve been on point, but a there’s a few days where I got up late though. However I’m going to correct upon it via setting multiple alarms for whenever I happen to oversleep a little. Fingers crossed that it works out!

Along side that, I picked up inspiration the other day to record myself feeding the animals outside, did it once, but was rather nice! I appreciated how I looked on video, not in a selfish way, I looked great. That also reminds me how I lost weight over these weeks, like a crazy ton, it completely flew by me and didn’t noticed until my godmother and mami pointed out.

I got this yo!

Long blog posts

Something I want to do, but haven’t been really able to do yet, same kinda goes for my journal entries. Yep, that’s right, I’m getting straight up meta right now, and I’m not talking about the company. To put it short, I want share more insightful posts in the future, although I’m fully aware I’m not completely obligated to do longer posts since no one isn’t controlling me.

That’ll be all for now, thanks for readin’! 😉

Commission and full body drawing ambitions

It’s a daydream that I constantly have every now and then, my ambitions are high, but my art, in my humble opinion, just isn’t there yet. I crudely ask myself, “Your art isn’t worth paying a penny for is it?” and the answer is no. But I’m probably being a tad much harsh on myself, besides, I’m the same person that has done the negativity laced ambitious thoughts like this before too. By the way, my focus is on Sonic the Hedgehog related art, just to let you know what’s my mindset and/or alike.

A major concept I struggle with is full body drawings, for the most recent time I fully did one was this one of Sonic back in May of 2021:

Made on May 5, 2021.

To be fair, this is nearly a year old, and I’ve made some improvements over time. Take this one of Furdy’s OC, Maya the Mako Shark I did more recently, which is still in WIP state since:

Made on January 14, 2022.

Sadly, I lost the original Krita file due to accidentally wiping my main Windows partition somehow (I now use the Linux distro Kubutnu), although I remember formatting the empty partition. But thankfully, my godmother’s co-worker was able to use some recovery software to gain files back, but they were mostly corrupted or scrambled. However, on a positive note, I still have the PNG of this and I probably can recover more of my files using Linux recovery tools.

So I really aim for improvement on my art in general and reach the point where I’m confident in doing commissions. Some particular things I’d like to do with the income earned (if I do and probably won’t lol) is donate to open source projects and buy a dedicated hard drive for my server I can think from the top of my head.

High speed chase and other hijinks!

Holy moly, some weird events happened around the time we left town today.

We left the local Target to put up our stuff in the car, when all of a sudden, a series of fire trucks and various police vehicles gathered around a spot in the marketplace square. I believe it was over a concern that a gas line might’ve been ruptured, with the fire department possibly applying a fire retardant to the line.

The next hijink was high speed chase, there were around 12 police vehicles travelling on the opposite side of the interstate I was on, completely baffled on what could possibly be going on. It was revealed later by my grandpa, who was watching the news at time we were on the road, that they were actually chasing a suspected shooter that injured a person near a school in a nearby city.

The icing on this weird cake was this semi-truck that was in front of us, which I must say, was a bit scary to see, for we thought we were about to witness an accident. The truck tried to cut ahead of the semi in the other lane, but they nearly even made it though, as they were close to clipping the semi behind.

So yeah, crazy hijinks they were indeed.

You were expecting an intro, weren’t you?

Let’s get something clear, I’m not an expert on doing intros, but you can find pretty much everything you need to know about me on my mantra. Besides, when I do intros, they often times are awkward or just lame lmao.

For those who are here reading this, you might be asking “why did you start this blog?” and the answer goes like the following sentence. For the past few months, I’ve been having difficulty communicating over social media, and not matter how many times I attempt to encourage myself to be social again, I just couldn’t accomplish that goal. It’s mostly due to stress and a personal issue from a little while back that keeps me held back from communication. So while I was, and still sorta am as of writing, on hiatus, I was mostly focused on my personal life and family. During that time, I got the inspiration to actually start keeping a journal as I vowed to my family and myself in my past.

Why didn’t I always keep a journal? You see, I was really young somewhere around 9 and I thought you would only make journal entries when you’re down. Thus, I thought the idea sounded cliche and never attempted consecutive entries. Now at 16, matured and wiser, I’m now committing to keeping one, knowing that it’s beyond entries of when you’re sad haha.

So here you’ll see all various things relating to art, music, life, miscellaneous thoughts, along with infinitely much more. My hope is that my creativity, growth, and feelings will greatly value from this very blog; perhaps even yours too dearest reader!

I hope you enjoy the experience, for I have a great feeling about this! 😉
